ABOUT US
OUR STUDIO
KALAA Yoga Berlin is a yoga school in Prenzlauer Berg, right on Helmholzplatz. Our studio is located in the back house of a historical Berlin building, in a former printing company with a view into the greenery.
Since 2011 we have been filling the space with movement, a warm community and the passion for yoga. We offer a variety of yoga classes, addressing everybody who enjoys moving, cultivating a healthy lifestyle and taking time for oneself.
Alongside dynamic and strengthening Vinyasa yoga, we practice and teach gentle yoga methods. In our work we pursue a holistic approach: the conscious breath connects body and mind. From time to time this might help you to be more peaceful in daily life.
Our classes are creative and balanced. In our teaching we integrate physical as well as philosophical aspects of yoga. Our teachers have accomplished qualified yoga trainings. Many of them work full-time in the field of dance, yoga and body work. With their knowledge and ways of teaching they contribute to the offerings of KALAA Yoga Berlin.
It is an essential part of our holistic approach to share knowledge. Therefore we regularly propose themed workshops and yoga events. Since 2014 we have been running yearly teacher trainings.
The KALAA Yoga community has been growing constantly. It includes many new team members, a large alumni network and a lot of people who join to practice frequently.
We are happy to meet you! The KALAA Yoga Berlin Team

OUR STORY
Two sisters, one yoga school: Stefanie and Manu dedicate their life to movement. Both of them have spent many years abroad to study and work as professional dancers. Stefanie in the Netherlands, Manu in Argentina and the UK.
In 2010 the sisters moved to Berlin and decided to follow their joint passion, creating their own yoga school. They looked for a suitable studio space and found it on Lychener Straße. Together with friends and family they have transformed the former printing company into a beautiful yoga studio. On September 3rd 2011 Stefanie and Manu opened KALAA Yoga Berlin.
The Sanskrit term KALAA (or KALᾹ) stands for art as well as technology or innovation. This implements the idea of creating something new out of training, creativity and immersion. In this way practice becomes a method of personal evolvement.
With great gratitude, much courage and a fantastic team, KALAA Yoga Berlin faces all opportunities and challenges of our time – to make the community idea and the teachings of yoga tangible, not only on the mat but also before and after class.
