THE 5 PRANAS

To celebrate the transition into the new year, this year’s retreat will focus on the energetic aspects of yoga practice and explore the different qualities of Prana.

This life energy – or life force – behind everything is divided into five Vayus, which have different functions and effects in our organism.

Each of the three workshops is dedicated to one or two Vayus and the various processes, sequences and movements that define the respective Pranas.

Saturday, 30.12. / 11.00-13.00 Uhr with Manu

Prana / Vyana – Moving and expanding

In this practice we stimulate the cardiovascular system, flow through dynamic and expansive Asanas and synchronize breath and movement. Finally, we practice somatic sequences and deep stretches.

Samana – Balancing and regenerating

Samana is the quality of Prana that is directed inwards and moves in and around the center of the body. In this practice we work with Pranayama, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra.

Apana / Udana – Cleansing and aligning

Udana moves upwards, Apana flows downwards and has a grounding and cleansing effect. The New Year’s Eve practice begins with a series of dynamic Kriyas and sun salutations.
